Fantail Goldfish

Fantail goldfish are a very common pet for beginners as they are hardy, don't need a heater and not fussy at all when it comes to what to feed them. They can live in ponds. Make sure to perform a water change weekly as this fish produces a lot more waste than others.

Breeding
These fish are bred the same way as Comets. Keep them at a low temperature, lets say 18C (65F), feed them generously with various types of food (e.g. live, frozen, flakes, pellets and vegetables). Do this for a month then slowly increase the temperature and spawning should occur. However, take precautions to keep the eggs and fry safe as the parents will eat them. The easiest alternative is to remove the parents after spawning.
