DIY Sustainable fish food!
It’s simple and easy to make your own fish and fry food. Plus its sustainable. Mosquito larvae are what many fish have been eating ever since their existence. They can induce spawning, increase the happiness of your fish and are also suitable food for fry (as you will harvest adult and baby mosquito larvae). Moreover, almost every fish will eat them!
Here are the steps in harvesting mosquito larvae.
1) half fill a bucket with water. Rain water is preferred as it has no chlorine therefore Mosquitos can lay eggs in it sooner (tap water can be used except takes longer for mosquito larvae to appear).

1) half fill a bucket with water. Rain water is preferred as it has no chlorine therefore Mosquitos can lay eggs in it sooner (tap water can be used except takes longer for mosquito larvae to appear).
2) put some grass clippings in it. I read somewhere that this attracts Mosquitos and provides food for the larvae.
3) check the bucket everyday until you see mosquito larvae. Then you can remove the grass from the bucket. Pour them into a see through container and cover it so no Mosquitos can hatch and fly away.
4) use a fish net to catch the larvae when you want to feed them to your fish. Note: NEVER TRANSFER WATER FROM THE CONTAINER INTO YOUR FISH TANK!
