These cute little shrimp which are extremely popular and easy to care rendering them a smart option for beginners. They should be kept on their own with natural plants such as Java Moss. Shrimp are very sensitive to chemicals (including medications, fertilizers and even aerosols) in their environment so caution should be practiced when around the tank to avoid it becoming contaminated.

Breeding
Females are darker red and larger whilst males are relatively clear in color. There is no need for male and female RCS to be separated into a breeding tank as they will breed freely and need no special conditions other than water changes. They are easy to breed, will not eat their offspring and will stay pregnant for 30 days until giving birth.
Note: do not let copper in the aquarium because it is lethal for shrimp! Check if the products you put into your aquarium have copper because if they do then they are not shrimp friendly.
