Breeding
Breeding ghost shrimp is difficult because they give birth to larvae and not miniature versions of themselves. The larvae have a high mortality rate and when they are hatch they have to be fed powdered algae (such as Spirulina) and must be kept in a breeding tank so that they are not eaten by their parents or other inhabitants of the aquarium. It is easier to breed ghost shrimp in a pond because the larvae have a lot of food there and also a lot more hiding places.
