White Cloud (Vietnamese) Minnows

Picture
White Cloud Minnows are a very hardy fish that can be kept in ponds and aquariums. When kept in the pond they will not eat frog eggs or tadpoles and will breed if there are no other fish to eat their eggs.

Care: Easy
Lifespan: 3-8 years
Food: flakes, brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, krill, mosquito larvae,
Size: (1.5 to 2 inches)
pH: 6-8
Hardness: KH 5-19
Temp: 18-26C (64-79F) but can live in conditions lower than 5C (41F)

Breeding
The chances of White Clouds breeding can be increased by feeding them live foods. When sexing these fish the males are more colourful whilst the females are larger and more dull in colouration. When breeding the males is display their fins fiercely and 'dance' around the females. These fish are egg scatterers and like to lay their eggs in breeding mops or java moss. The eggs will hatch around 48-60 hours after being laid and can be fed finely ground flakes or infursoria.
